Boston
Boston, also known as the "beantown", is the largest city in the state of Massachusetts with a population of 620,535. However, the greater Boston metropolian area has 4.5 million people which makes it the tenth largest in the country. Possessing numerous universities and colleges within the city and immediate adjacent areas, Boston is a hub for higher education and medicine. In addition, the city's economy is supported by its research, finance, electronics, engineering, and high technology - principally biotechnology.
Boston has more than 12 million tourists each year from across the United States and worldwide. This thriving and vibrant city is well-known for its cultural facilities, world-class educational institutions, champion sports franchises, as well as its place at the very forefront of American history.
Boston was discovered on September 17, 1630, by English Puritan colonists. Boston officially has twenty-one neighborhoods with diverse sub-areas.
